About Us The SBI SC/ST Employees Welfare Association (SEWA Kolkata) is a dedicated welfare organization committed to the development, safety, empowerment, and well-being of SC/ST employees working in the Kolkata Circle of State Bank of India. The organization traces its roots to the year 2003-04, when a group of committed employees came together to form the SBI SC/ST & OBC Employees Council with the objective of safeguarding the interests and promoting the welfare of SC, ST, and OBC category employees within the Bank. Since its inception, the Council has continuously worked towards the professional growth, social security, and overall welfare of its members while also contributing actively to various social and community welfare initiatives. As per the directives and guidelines issued by the Government of India and the Bank, the erstwhile SBI SC/ST & OBC Employees Council underwent bifurcation with effect from 01.11.2026. Consequently, the OBC wing was separated, and the new organization was established under the name of the SBI SC/ST Employees Welfare Association (SEWA Kolkata). Today, SEWA Kolkata stands as a responsible and progressive platform dedicated to:Protecting the rights and interests of SC/ST employees. Promoting unity, equality, and social justice. Supporting members through welfare and developmental activities.Encouraging educational, cultural, and social initiatives. Contributing positively to society through community service and CSR-oriented activities. With a strong foundation of unity and service, SEWA Kolkata continues its mission of empowering employees and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
